This sweet one-eyed kitten needs a good home

From Emory:

My husband and I live in the 2600 block of E Grace, and last week we found this precious little guy alone, cowering in our backyard in the rain with a very serious eye injury which seemed to have happened at least several days prior.

Upon taking him to the emergency vet, they told us that he is in very good health but that the eye needed to be removed right away. As you can see, we went ahead and had the surgery and he is currently recuperating with us.

However, we are hoping to find him a loving, permanent forever home. He is about 2.5 months old and in good health (the eye is healing very well). He has also had a flea treatment. He loves to cuddle, stare fondly into your eyes, and will use a litter box.

**Please note that due to his reduced vision he needs to be a 100% indoor kitty.

Feel free to message me with any questions and I can share additional details. We already have our own 2 indoor kitties and are relocating next week, so we would love to find the perfect family for this little guy here in the neighborhood!

Are you asking for any money for him? I currently own 2 one eyed cats and since having to put my old man down a few months so we’ve been looking to get another boy cat

I am glad kitty got a good forever home and is recovering well. Just so we don’t see him here later as “lost”. So many escaped animals lately. I am waiting to see someone’s mule or flock of sheep holding up traffic on Broad one day!

Not that it matters but just curious as to how the baby lost his eye? Was it attacked while loose? An accident with a stick or sharp object? Or abuse?

Thanks for doing the right thing, Emory. At no small expense, I’m sure.

Eric, I’m not sure exactly what happened. The vet did not seem to think that it was abuse, but more likely an accident that happened on the streets. It wasn’t infected yet, but was bulging out of the socket and was already sightless. I am sure his new human is going to make sure that he stays safe and sound!

Samantha, I’m sorry he was already taken! We were pretty overwhelmed with responses from the get-go. I hope you get another sweet rescue kitty soon.

Thank you so much for caring for him! We were followed home by our little ragamuffin 2 years ago from 26th st and he had a significant puncture wound in his side. Sadly, kittens get into a lot of trouble when something happens to mom. If you’re looking to adopt, Church Hill Animal Hospital on 25th always has some kitties looking for a loving home……..
