CAR agenda includes 20 local items (new houses, mixed-used, demolition)

The agenda for Tuesday, May 24, 2016 meeting of the Commission of Architectural Review includes the highest number local projects that I’ve ever seen:

  • 2719 E. Broad Street – Install wooden privacy fence
  • 2007 Venable Street – Install an awning over business door
  • 614 N. 27th Street – Remove existing vinyl siding from the front elevation, restore wood siding if salvageable or install HardiePlank siding, install window trim, rehabilitate the front porch, and paint elements of the structure
  • 226 N. 32nd Street – Replace concrete shingles on a mansard roof with standing seam copper
  • 228 N. 32nd Street – Replace concrete shingles on a mansard roof with standing seam copper
  • 13 N. 22nd Street – Modify an existing rear yard fence, construct a pergola, replace concrete steps with wooden steps, install new handrails and porch decking, and paint the structure
  • 3420 E. Marshall Street – Rehabilitate exterior of home to include new HardiPlank siding, wood windows, a wood door, and porch columns, railings, and stairs
  • 970-972 Pink Street – Demolish two attached single family dwellings
  • 2117-2119 Cedar Street – Install guardrails on the exterior of two 2nd floor doors
  • 978 Pink Street – Erect a privacy fence and construct a deck at the rear of the property
  • 2011 Venable Street – Construct a two story deck and a carport
  • 2320 Venable Street – Rebuild front porch
  • 105 N. 28th Street – Install porch railing on existing front porch and install a storm door to the front door
  • 2808 E. Leigh Street – Remove existing asphalt cladding, install HardiPlank siding, replace porch decking, and paint elements of the structure
  • 2416 Jefferson Avenue – Demolish a single story commercial structure
  • 625 N. 27th Street – Construct a new single family dwelling
  • 2123 E. Marshall Street – Remove vinyl siding and windows and install fiber cement siding and wooden windows
  • 2515 E. Clay Street – Construct an addition to an existing single family dwelling
  • 2411 M Street – Construct a new 3 story mixed use building with an enclosed rooftop amenity room and terraces
  • 125 N. 25th Street – Construct a rear addition
