The peculiar and long-vacant building at 1003 North 25th Street is undergoing a tremendous facelift today, reportedly by 3 guys with sledgehammers.
A permit for a $230,500 rehab project to convert the vacant building into commercial down, apartments up was issued at the end of August. The property is just outside of the Church Hill North Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places, and serval blocks north of the Church Hill North Old & Historic District.
The property is owned by 1001 North 25th Street LLC, which also own 4 other parcels on that same block, and is connected to veteran area contractor Thomas O’Kelly (Jewels Inc).

All good Botoxery starts with at least one sledge hammer.
Interesting, I was just looking at the house sandwiched in there a few days ago and wondering the story behind it…
Any idea what they plan to put in the commercial space on the bottom?
