Imagine how much better Richmond could be if we all spent just 4 hours doing something together for the community… Join over a thousand volunteers across the metro region at over 60 sites to make a difference on one of many organized volunteer opportunities at HandsOn Greater Richmond Day on October 17.
There will be at least 3 projects in the area:
- Chimborazo Friends Beautification
We will be performing clean-up activities and potentially planting if we can get a commitment from neighbors to help maintain the garden and plants. - Create Street Art in Church Hill
HandsOn Day will kick off shift one of day one of a weekend-long painting project. Saturday morning’s tasks will be primarily scraping, priming, and prep. - DROP IN: Playground Beautiful at Chimborazo Playground
Volunteers will weed, mulch, and plant. This project is Drop In. Volunteers can come at any time during the 9am-12:30pm window and are expected to work for no more than 30 minutes. This project allows those who cannot commit to the entire 4-hour-window a chance to serve (and it wouldn’t work if everyone stayed the entire time).
