Starting a new business? SEED info session next week at Family Resource Center

Thinking about opening a business in the Church Hill area? There is grant money to help you get going!

SEED Round 5 has officially started and the application is now available on the Virginia LISC site. Applications are due the Thursday before Labor Day (August 29).

There will be a SEED information session on Monday July 27, 2015 at the Family Resource Center (2405 Jefferson Avenue) from 5:30 – 7:00 PM. Find out how the SEED process works, what is necessary to apply and how to apply. Contact Killeen King at kking@lisc.org for more information.

The SEED Program was created through a partnership between Local Initiatives Support Corporation and Bon Secours Richmond Health System to help revitalize the 25th Street corridor in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond. The program, which launched in 2011, provides up to $15,000 in grant money to individuals looking to either expand or start a business. All recipients must have businesses located in the 23223 zip code within the city of Richmond.

By focusing on bringing businesses to the Church Hill area, the SEED Program not only helps business owners launch a new business, but it also brings commerce to Church Hill and creates more job opportunities for residents.
