Richmond Day

Sun May 24 12:00 pm
Please come on out and celebrate Richmond Day this Sunday which commemorates 408 years since the community of Richmond was conceived by Christopher Newport and his crew on May 24, 1607. This year’s Richmond Day has moved to its new location on the Sugar Pad along the James River, within yards of where Newport’s ship passed 408 years ago.

Richmond Day 2015 celebrates the future of the regional community of Richmond Virginia, and introduces Richmonders to the 90 other communities around the world named Richmond. Activities start around noon and will continue through 5pm and later. The performance stage includes a lot of young Richmond artists including singer Ameera Delandro, a strong contestant on this year’s “The Voice” – Ameera’s set starts around 3:30pm.
