According to richmond.com, Flames 231 in the Cold Storage building has closed after about 2 1/2 years in operation:
Flames 231 restaurant in Shockoe Bottom is closed, according to a sign on the door. […] The restaurant has been closed for at least a week, according to sources, and the phone has been disconnected.

Very bad news, but may be not enough customers. I will be missing them. Hope they will open somewhere else.
We’ve been there once, the day we were looking at apartments in Richmond, and then never again, despite their good pizza.. Got to admit, they were somewhat away from the beaten path. :

The location is terrible for any type of retail or restaurant where visibility is critical to success.
