The lady that owned and lived in the oldest house on Church Hill, was selected to fire the cannon to unveil the statue on that day. Very unusual for a woman to do that at that time in history. I wonder if I could get a picture of the ribbon etc., for the storyboard and artifacts I am collecting about the Anthony Turner House (1803 -1810), at 2520 E. Franklin. I have a commemorative ribbon that my great grandmother wore to the unveiling on May 30, 1894. Compliments of R.E.Lee Camp 1.
