The Villas at Oakwood Condominiums
Located right off Oakwood Avenue and across the street from the historic Oakwood Hebrew Cemetery, the new development is located in the former home of the Hilltop North Apartments complex, which was vacated toward the end of the 1990s. Though in its former life the complex was host to lots of Section 8 rental housing, Frye Properties and Virtexco Corporation have come though to give low- to mid-income Richmond workers a place to call their own.
Though the entire complex consists of 300 units, Frye and Virtexco have halved ownership of the project and each are independently renovating and opening their 150 or so units. While Frye’s units will be opening in the spring of 2007 in multiple phases, many of Virtexco’s 160 units are completed and ready for owners to move in today.
Is it disingenuous to write almost 700 words on these and not mention the dump?

Those apartments are not across the street from the Hebrew Cemetary, they’re across the street from the Confederate Section of Oakwood. I don’t want to split hairs but that is incorrect.
To answer your question:
Yes it IS disingenuous to write almost 700 words on these and not mention the dump.
I live here in a townhouse and that is owned by my aunt. I know something is happening as far as the future of the complex and have know since I found out that two families to left of me have been put up for sale. The tenants were not evicted. The owners chose to sell and sorry but…….this place either has to be renovated like crazy or it is being bought out slowly by someone like B & H Management. Only two choices. Wipe them out or become all rentals.
